You can't get there from here
There is a version of this phrase in almost every galactic language imaginable. The phrase is simply unavoidable for any civilization that hasn't yet invented teleportation, and yet, most humanoid life forms see it as a sort of challenge. Very few people ever just give up after hearing you can't get there from here, and this is primarily because the phrase is almost never true. One instance where the phrase is almost always true is when it is used in reference to the planet Homeworld, home to over a billion of The People, and the University of Homeworld, alma mater and once the employer of Doctor William Wonka.
You could search the galactic spiral arms from core to fringe and not find Homeworld. We know this because entire civilizations have tried. The People of Homeworld have gone through great pains to keep the location of their world secret. In fact, there is only one way to get to Homeworld, and if you don't own a Glass Elevator, you can't do it. Some believe that the Homeworlders have achieved a Type II civilization that has totally encased their planet and star in a physical envelope akin to a Dyson sphere. Others believe that Homeworld houses a Type II and a half civilization where the envelope is not physical, but is actually made of energy as well and somehow manages to hide its own gravity signature. The only thing that Doctor Wonka will confirm is that his people are very wealthy and that with enough money, you can keep almost anything a secret except for the fact that you have a great deal of money.
